Sketchtab
A browser-based, communal sketching tool built for my friends, inspired by macpaint, the mimeograph and xerox.
Sketchtab’s simple aesthetic and user interface allows for a satisfying doodling experience, which users can then submit to a communal gallery.

With simplicity and aesthetic in mind, I ended up simplifying things down to three tools: a simple pencil tool, a halftone tool, and a square block tool.
All of which can be inversed, by pressing shift, for an eraser effect.
A simple, insidious menu bar helps keep the interface a fresh, clean, blank canvas for your doodles.
To allow for a true cyber sketching experience, an import function allows for screenshot sized photo elements to be collaged in.
Sketchtab offers a low-fi cyber alternative to snail mail.
A consistent aesthetic across the group of contributors turns the gallery into a vertical digital zine: an anonymous totem poll of imagery.
